Does Meguairs mirror glaze products (tan bottles) rank with top names products, such as Zaino, Platinum, P21s, etc ...

I'm particualry interested in Meg's #20, #7, #26.

IMO...,
After using Meguiars for years..., not even close on the wax, glaze and poly you mentioned..., LOT of better choices.

I'm surprised

I thought #26 paste wax would be considered to be in the top of it's class.

I figured I was reaching with #7 and #20 though.

As far as Meguiars..., Yes.
Compared to others..., No.
Klasse, Zaino, Collinite, P21S/S100, Pinnacle, Blitz, just to name a few are LOTS better:)
A lot of people here like Platinum..., I have not had a chance to try it out yet..., but is has been ordered this weekend:)
Looking for durability?
Synthetics- Klasse AIO/SG and Zaino
Carnuba- Collinite
Ease of use/non-staining- Klasse, Zaino, P21S/S100
In no particular order and surely not conclusive..., just my favorites from my own tests. I sure wish Collinite was non-staining:)

Well I wouldnt say Meguiars makes a great legendary wax but the compounds are good. I like the polishes and compounds but for a finishing was the High Tech Yellow stuff never excited me. I have tried the paste and liquid and neither are that hot. The Polymer Sealant is pretty long lasting comapred to most waxes and I use it occasionally but not the waxes.

So for machine polsihes and compounds YES for finishing wax NO. Just my opinion and I will say that if you use any of it it wont look BAD but I dont care for it personally.

BTW if your interested Meguiars makes a Detailer line that isnt the stuff in the tan bottles. I havent used any of these waxes but I have tried a few cleaners and dressings and they are ok. I doubt that anything in the Detailer line is going to compare to P21S, Blitz, Klasse, Zaino, or UPP ect.

Best regards,
John

Hey Wayne,
Have you seen the stuff called 5 Star Shine? lol They claim to have a patent on the formula that is a 5 year sealant! I dont believe it but they are selling it at www.5starshine.com

I just figured if anybody I knew had tried it you have! :) I was just curious.

John,
I have heard of it, looked over the web site, and just wasn't interested in it.
I am sure one day I will get an order. Most of what I test or use is something someone has recommended..., or has Not recommended:)
Dulon is something I plan to try out when the platinum comes in:)

wayne,

I too have been hearing about Dulon (I think steve at gurureports on the roadfly site is testing it along with favorites klasse, zaino and platinum.

Include, in your list of carnauba waxes Trade Sectret and Souveran (great dept, no stain trim and easy to use).

ashsarna,
you are correct..., Steve is in the process of testing now..., so far, so good:)
I am going to wait until my platinum arrives first.

I will wait for your testings before I get into more products;) . I read you are also to testing Crystal Guard (there have been discussions on this on other forums). Keep us informed.

Ash.

I like Megs Pro stuff.

Basically when it comes to compounds you use either Farecla, 3M or Megs.

Topping wise, its basically down to individual tastes.

I personally HATE the Zaino 'plastic coated' shine, plus its expensive and a PITA to use.
But thats just me.

I like AIO and UPP, S100 and a few other odd items from different manufacturers.
Customers cars get #7 and a topper, maybe S100, maybe #20 or #26.

Depends on the price of the detail, the state of the car and the finish the customer wnats.

Point is, to me it comes down to performance vs price.

It may well be the 'Uber-Wax', but if its $100 a tub, it'll never end up on my shelf.

ashsarna,
was planning on testing Crystal Guard and Glare, but in the last 6 weeks, it has not arrived.
Customer service problem will be #1 problem so far.
Even if the products were the best in the universe..., If you can't get them delivered..., turtle wax would serve better:)
At least it is available.
I have contacted both company's several times about not getting the product yet..., their emails have stopped, so..., if that tells you anything on how their customers will be treated...
Or customer service in general...,
If there is a problem, you are on your own, at least in this case.
