If it is really pine pitch then you can rub it off with some isopropyl alchohol and a MF. Not sure if you can use the isopropyl alchohol that you can find at a drug store or grocery store, maybe someone else can answer where to get the right stuff? I just use the stuff we have at work.

what percentage is it? The stores carry both the 70% and the 90 (99? 95?)%. I think medical facilities use both, but use the 90% more often.

its actually a Toyota Prius, well i was thinking of polishing it off but i wanted to make sure what i should use. Since Tar seemed like the obvious to use i thought maybe i was overlooking anything.

Try some 3M Adhesive, Tar and Wax remover or like everyone suggested (Isopropyl alcohol = stuff you can buy at drug store will work). Can you scrape any of it off with your fingernail and is it hard? Looks like egg that was baked onto your paint. Are there any other marks on the car like that?

yeah the fingernail does gets some off but its really hard and i don't want to mess up the piant job. and there was an egged baked onto the paint. no there's only one long drip and 3 other small little splash of it on the same door.

Buy 90% isopropyl alcohol. Mix it in a spray bottle with water, 50/50.

Spray, let it dwell for few minutes. Begin to rub gently with your fingertip, and you will feel it begin to just dissolve.

Pretty simple fix.

God Luck.
