does anyone here clay glass?

I do it each time I clay my car. It only takes a couple extra mins. After claying I like using Poorboy's Pro Polish with a microfiber applicator to polish the glass.

I do the same on windows that need extra attention...Steve told me to use a cotton or terry applicator with PP...you get better bite with the polish..I've done it and he's right...FYI

do you think its ok to clay tonight and then detail on weekend? or would you guys suggest doing it all in one day? I dont have time and would liek to do each step each night.

While I prefer to do it all in one day, I don't see any problem doing a step whever you have the time. Even having to spread a step over a few days shouldn't cause any problems.
Just be sure the paint surface is clean when you start each step.
Leaving your paint unprotected for a week or so shouldn't cause any long term damage. If the vehicle is protected from the elements, so much the better.

I have clayed exterior windshields before, but rarely see any great improvements. One noteable exception was a vehicle that was regularly parked under a Pecan tree.

I always clay the glass. With using PB S&W it seems to make it like rainx after it is done. I've noticed that in rain storms after I've clayed the water bead right up and shoots of the windshield. I pretty much use clay for all painted surfaces, glass, and even rims. You would be amazed at what it picks up from your rims. Just don't use a brand new piece of clay on your rims. It will be junk after your done. I normally notice a diference in the rims especially the painted type.

Chubs

Depends if there are some extra heavy bugs that cant be removed by washing only because marring the glass would not be pretty

I have been claying my glass for a long time. Up till now I've just been using normal paint clay (clay magic to be specific) but I think I'll give the Diamondite Glass Clay a shot and see if there is any difference. My glass is fine on my two cars, but I've run into some interesting glass issues this past year that I wonder if having a better clay might not help.

I generally use a medium grade on glass. Mild clays don't seem to be as effective on glass as they are on paint. I have thought about trying Clay Magic's or Chemical Guy's heavy clay on my glass on the inner side of my wheels.

I have a Military style Hummer that I do on a regular basis when it comes back from shows, since it has the flat windshield the bugs are all over it. I find that the clay does a great job taking them off, just be sure not to miss any spots, your wipers will skip in some cases.
