My new black Saab 9-5 wagon has leather seats. Nice and comfortable but with winter arriving I need to clean and conditioned them. I've got kids . . nuff said. The weatherman says the high temps will be in the 50's by Thursday. Tommorrow still in the '70s.



Question is my seats are both heated and air conditioned which means I've got lots of tiny tiny holes on the butt and back sides for air flow. I see the products recommended in the forum are



Z-10 Leather Conditioner

303 Aerospace Protectant,

Lexol Spray Leather Conditioner

Pinnacle Leather & Vinyl Cleaner



and to a lesser degree Hyde (Hide?) Food.



Is one product better than the other related to this issue? The last thing I want to do is to be on my knees with a toothpick cleaning them out.



Saabman is new to the group and appreciates all the great product and detailing tips.
 
How about posting a pic of the seats to get idea about the holes.



Remember leather requires oils. Some products do not have the correct oils. Most products made for leather are good enough. Experiment and find one that has a smell you like too.



Nasty smells inside stink.



I have used the LEXOL and Meguires. Not real satisfied with either. They stink and the buffing is a pain. Also I get shiny and dull spots.



Remember the leather needs lots of oils when it is dry out because the leather loses its oil. A tip a German Mercedes mechanic taught me: Before conditioning put the heat option on and let the seats warm in the winter so they take the conditioner better.



I would love to see a pic of the Saab wagon I always like the convertable they make.



Good luck. Nother tip: do not stop at McDonalds with kids the grease from french fries is not good for the leather.
 
Its not a bad wax, very easy to use and decent protection. If you don't want to drop the 120 for it you can get the 30ml sample size. It lasted me quite a few cars. Over 10 with out a problem. One thing I like about carnaubas is the way they sheet water off the car. This wax however didn't do it great, it beaded water very good like a sealant but didn't do that great with sheeting.
 
I don't have a lot of other waxes in it's price range but it is a very nice nuba. Just be sure to apply it thin as I have had some sweating issues with it in the past.
