Dodo Juice Sour Power Shampoo

I took advantage of the Dodo Juice fall back sale last month and ordered several items I've been wanting to try. One of those items was Sour Power Shampoo.

I did not take any pictures because we all know what soap in a bucket looks like.

Dodo Juice has a nice line up of shampoos and all are very concentrated. Sour Power can be diluted 600:1 according to the label. That is about 1 oz for a 5 gallon bucket which is really good in my opinion. I like to play around with dilutions and see how low I can go before I notice a diminished performance. Sour Power is a PH neutral gloss enhancing soap so it is safe for the wax or sealant you have protecting your finish. Because it is marketed as a gloss enhancing soap I was really curious to see how much gloss it would add.

Since the car I was washing was really dirty and hadn't been washed in almost a month I decided to use 1oz in my bucket. The first thing I like to do is smell the product and I noticed a slight apple? scent but it wasn't strong or over powering. Sour Power had good cleaning ability and had good slick feel as my mitt glided across the paint. The soap rinsed easily and left a noticeable gloss behind. The suds never went away and even after I finished there were still a lot of suds in the bucket.

While the price may seem high I believe the concentration and the dilution makes this a good value. The gloss left behind is very noticeable but not as muh as other soaps I have used (1Z Perls comes to mind). While many may not like to alter the look of the LSP I was happy with how glossy the paint looked when finished. The owner was extremely happy with the results and commented on how shiny the paint looked.

Next week I will try Dodo Juice Born to be Mild if the weather holds up. Maybe I'll remember my camera and take a few pictures

Very nice. I love Sour Power but have stopped using it due to the lack of availability of the 500ml bottles. Same goes for BTBM..... One of my favorite shampoos but no 500ml bottles available. :(

I agree, these are only 2 of 3 shampoos that I have that are small bottles. I was really happy with the shampoo and I wished I would have tried it sooner

Nice review, thanks for sharing!

thanks Todd

While I've tried several Dodo Juice waxes I've not tried many of their other quality products. I've read quite a number of testimonials praising most of the Dodo Juice line up and I'll have to try this...:bigups

Great post!! :bigups

Good review. 1 oz to a 5 gal bucket does sound good. I just tried one of the Dodo Juice waxes and was very impressed.

Great review!

I've always wanted to try Dodo products. However I always see the price and X it out of my cart :(

For the same price, you can get a gallon of maxisuds.

Dang! What happened to the 500ml bottles? Good thing you only use .5 oz in 3 gallons, at least it last a long time.

I checked out the store. Don't really get the differences in the dodo juice shampoos. The one reviewed here has the gloss enhances but the others all seem very similar to each other

I think the difference in the other 3 come down to Dilution ratio. They are all just super concentrated good cleaning soaps.

B-o-B = 400:1

B2BM = 800:1

SNS = 1500:1

I have and am using up some B2BM. It is a nice soap for sure. But I am finding other I like more or that I want to try.

I know what you mean. I like trying different soaps. My go to is PB SSS and on occasion I break out the Wolfgang. Thats the only two I have left in my supplies. SO maybe it is time to get something new!

After reading Rockets post I thought I would share my experience with DoDo Juice Sour Power shampoo, especially his comment about some not liking how it might alter the look of the LSP. I put CG V-7 sealant on my 2010 White Ford truck and finally got what I was looking for, which was a bright, crisp acrylic look. Come time to wash the truck, I thought I might "Ramp" up the shine a bit by washing with the DODo juice shampoo. This shampoo claims to have a high amount of carnauba wax. I didn't pick up on that until I finished washing the truck. It cleans well, leaves a slick surface BUT...imparts a slight carnauba finish. Its shinny, but if you like your acrylic look, will soften that look somewhat toward more of a carnauba finish. IMO, would be a great shampoo for a carnauba finish but I wouldn't wash with it if you prefer to keep your acrylic look. SO...I'll strip the truck, go back again with CG V-7 and afterward shampoo with something like Duragloss or CG shampoo that have no carnauba.
