Do you wash your pads after you use them??

I'll usually wash them after about 3 uses if I'm only using medium to light abrasives. If I have to break ou the heavy stuff, I'll just wash them after that. I have two polishing pads, so I can keep the abrasives to one pad and the finer polishes on the other. I don't really get too much build up on the pads after each use. I've found that it works really well for me.

i was wondering if you wash you pad after you them?? i heard you didnt have to.

I don't think I've heard that... I like to start fresh with a new pad each time I work on a vehicle. I guess if the pad isn't that dirty I might consider it but I don't. The old, dried up products on the pads will either affect the polishes somehow or cause dusting (was your pad clean with the SSR1?). I have 5 or 6 polishing pads so it's not like I'm washing the pads every day.

I wash by hand after most every day of significant use.
I haven't machine washed yet (6 months on this set or so). I will tomorrow evening.

I'm far from a pro but I feel it is worth it to wash the pads after every use. You have no way of knowing what your next job will be......better safe than sorry.

I should add that I use PB's a lot, so I can't use wet pads. That's why I wash at the end of the day.

I wash after every detail. No matter how many pads I use. I have left the pads loaded with product set for a few days before washing. I did not have any problem getting them clean in the washing machine. It is not a practice that I endorse. I like them cleaned as soon as possible. I am sure that this is the best practice for me. YMMV

I wash mine out after every use.

I keep a bucket of warm soapy water around during the detail. When I load a pad up, I spray it down (saturate it) with a equal mix of APC, Water, and Vinegar and toss it in the bucket to soak. When I'm done, I wash/rinse them out by hand. If I need to use the pad again, I hook it up to the PC/Rotary/Cyclo and spin dry it.

machine wash? Like in the washing machine?? have not heard that - how does it work?

I use a brush to clean then between washings - then wash every two or three uses..unless I was using something like ssr3.

I soak mine in soap and a five gal. bucket and work them with my hand ,let them sit a couple days and work them once more then to the wash machine. I always start out with a fresh clean pad.
