Do you use clay to remove dried on bugs?

Since most bug and tar removers will also strip the wax, I usually just spray (soak) the bug-juiced area with my QD spray, wait 2 minutes and wipe it off. That's all I've ever needed for bugs. (tar is a different story)..... ;)

This is a very strange claim made by Zaino. How does their clay work if it is non-abrasive? I have never seen another clay claim to be non-abrasive.

I've used Zaino Claybar and it's VERY sticky, but also very smooth. Not gritty like some claybars. I think the idea is that it "pulls" the contamination out of the paint without "sanding" if off.

.

I've tried Stoner's Tarminator, and I think its okay. I'd rather have a slick surface (ie, UPPx2-3) so the bugs easily wipe off with some QD :)

Here is one of the best explanations of how clay works that I have ever read and even dispels show myths about clay.

This same information is now in the Autopia detailing guide. If there's anyone who hasn't downloaded it yet it makes for great reading. Having already read this in the guide is why I seriously doubt Zaino's "non-abrasive" claim about their clay.

I would post some pictures, but I don't think anyone wants to see my hairy back. :lol

Ya clay is abrasive, so is #80, but didnt someone polish with #80 every day for a month and noticed no change in paint thickness using a paint gauge?

This last weekend i went from one coast of Florida to the other. Wanna talk about bugs?

The local do-it-yourself powerwasher removed pretty much all the bugs that were on top of my z2pro and z8.

A Z7 wash removed the rest.

Dont forget all you nit pickers, water is abrasive too hahaha.
