Do you typically use flat or variable contact pads? And if you use the VCP

Do you find that it appears as though the PC doesnt really roate when pressure is applied on the outter portion of the pad.? I noted that it still jiggles so to speak but it reall doesnt spin around in a full circles like when used with a flat a pad.



Am I doing something wrong? I also noticed for the first time when I used the pad with Klasse that the Klasse dusted up a bit like DACP. What is that an indication of?

if you use the pc w/ klasse use a finishing pad at like 3 or2 other wise it wil cake up on you. i perfer doing it by hand (that didnt sound to good did it) ;)

There is no benefit to using VC pads on a PC.

There is not enough surface area on the pads

to make any real impact. Also, even though a PC

will rotate, it is only doing it as a function

of the orbits. But once you bear down on the PC,

the rotation stops, and all you get is jiggling of the pad

and backing plate against the paint surface. On my first

tryout with the PC, I tried bearing down flat, with very

minor progress, bearing down with the machine at an angle

did little to nothing but beat up on the paint due to the

heavy vibration. I actually left marring spots from this

stupid manuever. Luckily, I was able to correct errors left

on the paint, but I lost a bit of time doing it.



VC pads are geared towards rotaries, which can be

angled, thus allowing you to take better advantage of the

VC pads. To get the most effect out of the PC, you have to go

with flat pads.



If you can, check and see if the new LC pads are flat-faced,

or atleast more flat-faced than the other style that places

like CMA are offering. Otherwise, give the Edge Pads a try.

Their classic pads are decent, and the new 2000 pads

are suppossed to be even better.
 
I use the LC variable contact pads, 7.5" and they work great. I haven't had any problems at all. I prefer applying, and removing AIO with the PC, the results are far better than doing it by hand.



I use a finishing pad to apply it to the whole car, while other seem to like a polishing pad. I then use a finishing pad with a bonnet to remove after it's completely dried, and it's stunning.



I have stopped using SG and go straight to a Carnauba as a LSP.



This look seems to start coming in after 24 hours and really is looking it's best after about a week.
