If you buy car soap and other detailing chemicals in gallon sizes and use a hand pump dispenser like this one:

You’re probably familiar with how much of leaky nuance the pump can be while not in use. However, some of you may not be aware that a 3/8 screw protector acts as the perfect cap to stop unwanted drip, leaks, and otherwise unwelcome spillage:

Available at most hardware stores for less than $1, they often come in a 2-pack, as displayed in the following photo taken at my local Home Depot:
