most of my customers are car enthusiasts so they respect the work and price... but you always get a few here and there that are 'picky'. but nothing keep up at night...
discount is definitely a big pain in the behind to deal with. I used to be mobile, and when i first started, i had to go BIG discount to get people in. Once I have steady customers, I slowly pull discount back. Then later moved into a physical location, did the same thing, BIG discount. Then we started pull them back in again. Now things are what I think is 'reasonable' and 'normal'.
overall, in the long run, little discount makes your products/services more valuable and end up with 'better' customers...
