FYI that those that are thinking of it. I have more GoPro's than one person should own, but they make terrible dash cams because they won't start recording on power on and they won't loop, so when the SD card gets full they don't delete the oldest. There are some workarounds but a dedicated cam works best. Garmin is starting to make some good ones that also incorporate GPS info into the data stream. I own this one:

Yes, it is their shop foreman to be exact. He was picking up another tech who had a stroke while at work 3 days earlier.

Of course I did, never told them I had a video of it though. I wanted to see how they handled the situation. It was a huge cluster &^$@ and is a long story. But at the end of it they never said sorry so I uploaded the video. I also linked the video in a Yelp review for them.

Sorry man, given typical dealership behavior - I can only image the cluster^&*! you had to deal with.

I put a dash cam in my car after I had a problem with someone repeatedly messing with my car after I washed it.

Believe it or not, someone was actually putting dirt, trash, and food onto my car after I had just detailed it. I got so pissed off that I called the cops and they said they cant do anything about that as my car is accessible by people walking by. So I picked up a dashcam and quickly found out that it was my landlord's 54-year-old son! This guy is some kind of hoarder that likes mess and is the exact opposite of an OCD clean freak.

I tried to confront him but it only made things worse:

I spoke with his father/my landlord and he told me he disowned his son over 25 years ago and they haven't spoken a single word the entire time despite living in the same house! I knew I had someone with a serious mental problem on my hands and that the police would only further antagonize the issue... I rather not get into how I retaliated but suffice it to say the landlords son never got within 10 feet of my car again. He still went out of his way to collect random nails and screws and scatter them on the road in front of my driveway and dump huge 100lbs chunks of ice during the winter. Eventually, I got worried that he might escalate to cutting brake lines or something crazy so I rented an indoor parking spot in the condo building next door.

I kept the dash cam in for about a year after the incidents with landlords son. One day I was speeding during winter and took a turn way to fast just as a pedestrian was running into the road. I almost hit the woman and luckily came to a full stop just inches from hitting her (she didn't see me coming at all). I reviewed the video over and over and concluded if I had hit the woman I'd be at fault because of the speed I was traveling (almost twice the speed limit around a turn in winter). I knew after that moment that the camera could be used against me and removed it I also stopped speeding as much after seeing how reckless I was.

If you have a dash cam be extra careful because it can be used against you too!
