Do they actually hear themselves?

I live about about 20 miles from the Mexican border...I've never once thought about being a victim of a home invasion. It happens quite a bit down here but it's mostly drug dealers ripping each other off. I don't own a gun but my brother has 3. I live in the middle of the city while my brother lives out in the country. From my experience, it's more about a person's perception/fear that something bad might happen to them that will dictate how someone feels about owning a gun. I feel safe in my neighborhood while he doesn't where he lives. I've asked him why THREE guns...his reply is always the same, "so I can be ready". I on the other hand don't feel I "need to be ready" so I don't own guns.

There is a strong history that the white house press spokesperson can say so little with so many words.

Well, I don't own guns either. But I am all for people owning them. I don't own them - because I know given the right situation - I'd use them. This would likely be a whole legal mess.

As I posted a few months ago - someone just walked into my house when I was sleeping. I pulled out a WWII knife and chased him out. Honestly - if I'd had a gun - he'd be dead. If he had resisted - I would have stabbed him. This is why I don't own a gun.

But, for the most part - if you mind your own business, and don't mess with crazy people - you will be OK. I'm delusional - I think if someone messes with me - I just want to fight them. I know I will prolly get my azz kicked or shot if that happens again.

I've been to Mexico prolly 7 or 8 times. I've met nothing but the nicest people. I know they have drug gangs and such. But - I don't think they will be creeping over the border to bother you. I've walked around Mexican towns where people prolly make 5¢ a year with an iPod, iPhone, credit cards, & a digital camera - all in plain site. Nobody bothered me - a lot of respect there.

I like Mexico and Mexican people. I'd feel completely comfortable living there. I can only go by my experiences.
