do it yourself car wash

this may be against autopia rules but i have a question about the brushes that are at the do it yourself car washes.

my dad has a plain white van that he uses for work, so the "extra" care is not really needed for it. it is a decent size van so the brushes that are on the handles at the auto car wash places would be ideal.

anyone know where i can buy one like that, that i can connect to a pole :nixweiss

Um....why would asking that be against the rules? Oh...you mean against the rules to scratch your dad's van! You can find brushes on long handles at Poop Boy's, or probably any store like that, plus WalMart/Target etc. Don't know if the car wash ones you refer to are special or different, cuz I'm not familiar with them.

If you mean the type of brushes that are on Aluminium/plastic handles that you hook up to a hose and can flow water through the brush while you wash, they should be availible at a Pep-Boys, Targets, Wal-mart, etc. as Setec said.

Did you want one that flows water/soap through it or a brush for doing a âہ“normalâ€Â two-bucket wash?

TOL sells and excellent Boarâ€â„¢s Hair Brush for vans & trucks. This is a great brush, well made and super gentle.

They have a flow through brush too but it has synthetic bristles.

The Braun Brush Company sells a number of different brushes, including the ones that are actually installed at many commercial washes.

PC.

Yeah, you can get them about anywhere. My Mercedes Dealer use to use them for their 'Complimentary' car washes after service. And apparently, they're meant to be laid on the ground as well (bristles down of course). You could always tell who let the dealer wash their cars vs. who washed their own. They have since upgraded to a drive thru, automatic swirl inducer.

Yeah, check out the links The Other PC provided :xyxthumbs Griot's has a flow-through BHB too. Nothing wrong with BHBs, I've used them for years. I *would* stick with BHBs instead of the synthetic-bristle ones though.

Sounds like the perfect way to clean a white work van :xyxthumbs

sounds good guys,

yeah "against" the rules, meaning not the ideal way to wash a car ;)

i'll look into the auto stores and wal-marts and see :xyxthumbs

thanks for the replys
