do i need AIO with this setup?

If I were you I'd call the Megs hotline for some advice. That way you can get all your questions answered and more as they arrive.

I would avoid wetsanding if you can because it will remove a lot of clear coat. But you're right to use 2500 or 3000 grit. These are made for factory paints.

IMO, #83 via PC isn't enough to remove sanding marks. I'm not sure if the PC has the umph to do it.

If I were you I'd go #83 with a cut pad at least twice until the majority of swirls are gone. Then go with #80 and then finish with your wax. If you're happy with the results in a month (when all of the oils are long gone), then you could go with AIO/SG. Then decide if you need more polishing or if wetsanding is the only way.

Wetsanding factory paint should be your LAST resort.

here is the problem... circiled in red:

the paint and primer was compleley stripped off of it, i dont know what happend because i bought the car with it like this.

i attemped to do a half-assed job touching it up with OEM Touch-up paint (yes using the crap brush it came with, i didnt know any better).

i was planning on taking that paint off, applying a primer (spraypaint) then the Duplicolor color-match paint (spraypaint thats actually almost OEM looking) and a clear spray... then 3000 grit sand and buff.

Thoughts on what to do with the above pic?

all the other little chips in the hood i probebly wont wetsand... just touch-up with a toothpick as advised in the article.

Scratch X has the same power as #80. Its a nice product to get spots by hand, but I would not want to do a whole car. #83 is actually more abrassive than #2, but it breaks down faster making it easier to use and it leaves behind a nicer gloss. As far as sand mark removal with a PC, it can be done provided you use a cutting pad. I have removed 1500 wet sand marks. The key is taking your time. You can always do the sand spont by hand (hard pressure) and #83 to remove a good amount of marks before you final polish with a PC. I would not spray a primer over OE paint and spray paint on top of that. You would not have even layer of paint. Just clean the area well and touch up the sports one layer at a time until its even with the factory paint then wet sand it to blend.

gotcha. i'm thinking i'll go with #83 and use it to do the entire car (as a polish)... and take extra time on the wetsanded areas with it (if it dosent take it out i'll order the harsher stuff then go back over it with #83 to polish it)

your right jetskie, if i put the primer on i may get a bit higher then i want... i'll just spray the color coat on.

You can go to a place that does airbrushing. Had it done on my 2 week old MB where I scrape the bumper with the garage door and it came out like new. Even now that it's a year old I can't tell that it was done. Cost me $150 but it was worth it.

hmm, i've never thought of airbrush... my brother airbrushes, however i'd have to buy a whole Pint of paint just for that...

unless, is it possible to take the Duplicolor Colormatch Spray paint... and fill the airbrush container with the spray and use it like that?
