Do any car/truck companies still use single stage paint?

Probably a cheap repaint. I don't believe you can paint a car a pearl colour without using the base coat, pearl coat, clear coat system.

I Klassed a few of ours, I even did my pedal bike :chuckle:



Mitsus red on their Evos is another example of SS I believe.

Saying "them" would have made it more clear but didn't sound right to me. Some of the cars are SS and some of them are BC. That more clear?

and you are right...them refers to persons, it refers to things...

My moms 06 'yota matrix in red has SS front and rear bumpers while everything else is BC/CC. It was strange because they were fading already, but came to find out it was because it was single stage paint.

My 2002 Mazda Protege5 in Sunburst Yellow is single-stage.

Funny that the imports still cut corners on their paint like that while still commanding a premium price tag: the power of perception!
