DJ Mayo presents a 2010 E550 Mercedes Benz in Black Metallic (Excellent sun pics)

Just wondering, when you say that you "leveled" the paint, what exactly do you mean?

When I think of leveling a finish I think of wetsanding to remove the "orange peel" look that most new cars have.

Awesome finish man.

I just posted for some advice on my Black '03 Land Rover.

Would you guys recommend the Black Ice for the Rover?

I leveled the clear coat to a level to reflect back light evenly for a swirl free finish. Yes, the car had some OP but no reason to go sanding away on a brand new car that had it very minimal compared to others. The owner was more than stoked out about the results.

I'm not sure I know what Black Ice is?

Excellent workmanship!

I've been using the Blackfire wet diamond more and more. However it seems to create fake halos, and on soft paints you have to wipe too hard to remove. I've been leaving it till the next wash, what do you do?

Also the beading is crazy, when I foam the car the foam doesn't stick, it creates a spiderweb effect on the paint.

Cheers,

GREG

Greg-

I haven't come across any problems with the application and removal process with BFWD. What are you using after any polishing is done before applying BFWD?

^^^

The car is super clean before I apply the sealant. its not a huge issue as the fake halos are created by the Oil in water mixture of the product. The halos are so light and when I wipe they shift position, so I know its not in the paint.

GREG

LOL not saying it was in the paint just seeing how the paint was prepped. I know you know what your doing :)

Are you applying by hand or machine?

How long are you leaving it to cure? Could be using too much as well.

I'm applying by hand, and I might be applying too much. I just try to get a thin film. I let it cure for about 15 or so, it doesnt seem to cure like others I've use. Anyhow sorry I highjacked your thread DJ.

Your fine, Greg.

I have never applied by hand, I always use speed 4.5 with a Blue LC or Red LC Pad. 2 little drops will do two doors usually. Once I can't see the product transfer from the pad onto the paint, I then apply 2 more little drops. Try it next time and let me know.

I'll give that a try! with a PC thanks DJ

I don't think the stuff will ever "cure" I have forgotten a spot or two and found it the next day, and it wiped off easily.

Cheers,

GREG
