when people refer distilled water..

can I use those purified waters?

let me know.

thank you in advance.

idwib: If you want, but true distilled water is *cheaper* than Evian.

Poland Spring (claims) is Natural Spring water, which I wouldn't use, for fear of a mineral content.

In the end, go to the grocery and pick up a gallon or two of house distilled for $.89/ea.

Just go to your local supermarket or pharmacy I believe they carry distilled water.

Distilled water has nothing in it, its even purer than bottled waters. There is no mineral content at all, which is why people dont really drink it because it has no nutritional value.

If you look on the back of the bottle it should say the ppm of mineral content. RO water is usually less than 10, distilled is about 0. Evian , i think is 300 to 400 ppm.

People do drink distilled water, = home distillers.

bottled waters usually have added minerals and such for taste and health (if you drank distilled water all the time, not only would it be nasty, but you're not getting the electrolytes your body needs to stay healthy).

Distilled water is the only "pure" water you can get. Aquafina may come close (as it tastes like nasty distilled), but is expensive.

Evian is one of the most expensive; there must be a reason why Evian spelled backwards is "naive" :chuckle:

You can find distilled water at pharmacies they cost around $1.50/gallon.

Another trick is to use the Mr. Clean system to make DI water.

haha, regardless of that rather confusing statement (;)), drinking distilled water still is not good for you as your body normally gains minerals and other electrolytes through the water we drink, as I previously mentioned

this is an interesting thread to read here on autopia

Distilled water is simply water that is boiled, and then the steam is captured and cooled so the steam turns back to water. When water turns to a vapor the minerals stay behind which is why there are no minerals in distilled water. It tastes very flat, really no taste at all because all the minerals have been removed. Bottled water is totally different then distilled water because it still has some minerals in it.

Bottle water is not distilled water. Distilled wad comes in gallon jugs and says Distilled. Drinking Dis, Water is not good for you cause it contains no minerals for your body. In fact a constant diet of Dis. water can make you very sick. Trust me I work in a laboratory.

It's already bad enough to drink straight water while exercising for extended periods of time, especially heavy exercise. Drinking distilled water would increase the risk of a heart attack or other serious health problem (including death) significantly.

If I wash my jeep at a car wash bay, i use distilled water in the bucket. Its not fun to try and fill a bucket up with the wand at the car washs. :doh :think2

I do not see any use in using distilled water at home though?
