Dissapointed..

I have the same experience with Optimum polish, it seems that the polish is just too shy to come out.

You really have to squeeze the botlle with force before a small dab will come out.

I also drilled out the hole with a slightly larger drill.

My solution : a "ssr" type botlle with a mix of / Optimum polish and compound.

I don't know what the polish makes so strange with the chunks in it, but until now, it works for me...

As I mentioned earlier in your post, the 2.5 would be the minimum SSR to buy. Dont even bother with 1 or 2. It will certainly help with the swirls, but again, it does have a certain amount of filling agents in the polish. So although you will be removing "most" swirls, when you wash your car, some may reappear. Optimum Hypercompound will do the trick for you. I started out my detailing experience buying the SSR line and was very happy with it, until I discovered that it had fillers. It is easy to use and produced the desired results on customer's cars. But for my cars I use Mezerna line, (powergloss and IP)and Optimum Hypercompound. But to answer your question, yes, you will be very happy with 2.5.

Here it is again for your viewing pleasure:

USE SSR 2.5

IT IS MUCH BETTER THAN 2, WAY BETTER THAN 1

I can't say it any clearer than that. It will most likely take care of your swirls but, honestly, I think the OP would take care of those swirls too! Slow pass with pressure is the key. OP can be worked forever so, if I were using a PC, I would work it forever + 1 day before spending more money on polish.

Yeh, if you are using DA w/OP you need to bump up the speed to 5-6 and work 2'x2' panel at a time. I use rotary n pc and I have no problem.

Pour OP in a large container and stir it up really well, that ought to help the 'chunk' problem. Optimum is also moving into it's own manufacturing plant, that ought to help with its occasional inconsistancy problems.

I have been having excellent results using a 50/50 mix of the polish and compound. The compound has a smoother consistancy overall than the polish and mixed together, I have no problem with chunks.
