disposable cloths

Has anyone heard of these disposable polishing cloths?



Are they any good?

They might be useful to leave in the car for quick touchups.



I have a new minivan and kids run in and out. Thought this might help mitigate the inevitable messes and fingerprint soiled paint...



Anyone?
 
Do a search for "sontara" cloths. They're made by DuPont and work really well for wax removal. I use them all the time.



For kid messes the cleaner wipes on the market work well. For fingerprints and whatnot on the paint, check out The Glosser wipes.
 
bretfraz, could you post some good close up pics?

there pics make them look like note paper. are they towel or paper like? soft to touch? do they crease if folded? how thick are they?

they are very inexpensive. however i have to hold off on orders for awhile. :D

They feel like a Cling Free dryer towels sorta. Or maybe like flannel. They're soft to the touch and glide across paint. They don't crease but I suppose you could put one in if you wanted to. I can't tell you how thick they are but they're thinner than any MF. Closer to a paper towel, I'd say, but tough (hard to tear and don't seem to snag) and soft.

I have had good luck with soft 100% cotton flannel. I buy it by the yard at craft stores. I check every roll for the softest and thickest one, especially need to check both sides of the flannel. Then I cut pieces and use them once. I suppose you could wash them but why bother? Cheaper to buy more flannel.
