Disaster Recovery Plans!

Fishpimp

Anything but Boring....
What is your disaster recovery plan. What do you do when business is EXTREMELY slow? How do you plan to pay for damage that you may do to someones car. Are you guys setting aside a portion of every detail for rainy days... Long winters and droughts. What is your plan? What do you plan to do when things go awry?

Think for a moment because we are in a volitile industry. What do you do when you have back and joint ailments and such. What is your disaster recovery plan?

Cash in my retirement fund and move to Florida! :lmfao

Seriously though, there are alot of anwsers to that. It really all depends on several situations such as did you create a business plan, do you make enough to save money and possibly invest, are you insured, do you effectively and actively market and advertise, etc. My anwser is yes to all, but it wasn't pretty at all in the beginning. There are a few extra things an entrepreneur must have that most people don't...unbelievable desire, willingness, passion, and the stubborness (SP?) to never give up no matter what.

Thanx!
To be honest I have no plan. Really. I simply have a sophisticated prayer life.

Brother prayer not only changes things but it makes a way out of no way. My business has literally sky rocketed ever since I decided to give a portion of all I earn to my church/donations/etc. I find that when you give back it releases those endorphins and people are attracted to you and what it is that you are trying to do. You have got to give in order to receive.

Now back to the subject. I too put money in a 401k/IRA and stocks, however, my business is a seperate entity. I guess I'm not asking a question as much as i'm trying to spark some creative thinking for those who are not preparing for the slow seasons and no business at all. Times are tuff and we have people who depend on our incomes. i'm just wondering what it is that we are doing to protect those interests.

One thing I do is on any aggressive polish or wet sand jobs I charge a minimum and make sure I'm charging fully. These are the most serious threats in my work.
