Disappointing products

Meguiars Wheel Brightener.

Pitiful performance every single time I have used it in various concentrations considering the really nasty health risks..

1. Poorboys world nattys red (saw nothing different from blue on my black cars)

2. Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer- I like #34 better

3. Meguiars water magnet waffle weave towels, 2 uses and they already repel water and dont absorb anything

ZCS, won't shed dirt.

New formula AA. Just can't get the new stuff to shine on tires like the old stuff.

CCS Pads

I am suprised to see [Pinnacle PCL] on here. I love this product. It was never hard to apply and use.

That's what I was thinking...but then I like some other stuff that's on this thread too :nixweiss

Poorboy's Natural Look Dressing. Rinses off completely in the very first rain.

Meguiars Gold Class Carnauba wax. Shortest lived wax on the market?

Mothers Back to Black. It's water right? It's just as effective as water.

Good to see you back on Autopia foxtrapper !!!

haha all you guys expecting a spray on quick wax like DG Aquawax to have longevity over a couple days are just fooling yourselves. It's a QD with a little bit of carnauba in the emulsion.

That being said my only disappointment I can recall was some Mothers QD. It smelled like the "Hot Tamales" candy (real cinnamon-y) .. I QD'd a car with it one day and came back a bit later to see the car covered in little gnats. They were attracted to the sweet smell. Freaking weird.

I chucked it out after that.

Carnauba? I thought Aquawax was a spray sealant not a spray wax.

Eh, so it says. Same thing applies. We'll just change DG Aquawax to one of the Meguiars QD "Wax" products.

And even with the DG, it's got so little sealant in it I wouldn't expect any reasonable longevity.

:nervous:

Black Magic Spray Detailer

16-OZ-BM-WET-SHINE-SPRAY-DETAILER.jpg

It takes a lot to wipe off streak free.

Maybe that is why it was $1.00 per bottle......

DoDo wheel cleaner- I am glad it was a free sample, stuff was hard to spray and did not work great at all.

Cobra Microfiber- Over priced and they almost all seem to shed on me at some point.

I've used it on bare paint and have gotten over a month of beading with it. That's more than some other LSPs.

Gotta throw FMJ in the mix. Love the slickness, hate the 2 week durability.

I've used the DG AW and had pretty decent visual cues of longevity as well. Granted, I have used it over some fresh (and not so fresh) LSP's, and usually notice a difference for at least a couple of weeks. Not real sure how you quantify how much sealant it has in it versus something like Optimum Spray Wax or Zaino CS or any other spray sealant. They all seem to work, to some extent. Just because it's a spray doesn't mean it won't fit the bill. Of course, everyone is going to have different experiences too...

I'm surprised to see so many over-the-counter crap brands mentioned in this thread.

To me disappointed = overrated, meaning you were expecting great things and were let down. How can you be disappointed in crap?

Were there actually this many people that had high hopes for those cheap "Black Magic, Simoniz, ArmorAll, TurtleWax, etc." $5 products they picked up at Canadian Tire/Autozone/Napa, etc.?

Not surprising with some of the mentions on here. Mine are:

Pooryboys SSR line- absolutely no improvement everytime I tried it. Very

disappointing for how much I paid. I ended up selling them.

Pooryboys World Polish w/sealant- Didn't like it.

ClearKote Carnauba Moose Wax- Hated it. Stained my trim bottom of the window. Haven't been able to get it out since.

Liquid Glass- Pain in the arse to remove and should have a disclaimer that says

"Use on blemish, scratch, swirl free paint." If you have any of that, it's almost like looking at your car thru a magnifying glass. Enhances everything.

Meguiars NXT 2.0- Total hype and the most hated product I've ever used. It's hard for me to believe that people actually like this stuff. The spray detailer is even worse.

Wolfgang Instant Detail Spritz- $20 for this crap? Nuff said.

Lastly,

Pinnacle Souverän™- Before you hate on me read on. I liked how easy on and off it is. But it attracted ALOT of dust, and it's pretty pricey. I got it and the Wolfgang package for Christmas one year. I would never buy it again. It looks nice, not the best I have used. But can you justify $95 for it? I can't.

@WaxManRonnie:

It is funny how everyone has different views on products. I like PB's PwS very much, but to each its own.

I totally agree with Liquid Gl***. If the paint is perfect, than it is fine. Any blemish will show up like a huge exclamation mark.

Never liked Meguiars NXT 2.0 which is disappointing. I generally like Meguiars products, but not that.
