If you're shoveling out crap cars, you're not charging enough.

I like this one!

I dont get those calls, and I price them high when I do on the rare occasion = I dont get the work.

To be honest, a typical "minivan" client wants new for cheap and doesnt understand when I say its 6 hours of work and will be $300 just for the interior. One lady came back with, "well "so and so" said he would do it for $75, want to beat that price?" NOPE

Pro tip: Raise your starting interior price to $300 for every car and never look back.

I did it and I've never been happier. There is no question that I can put the time into an interior to get it right. If an interior is in cleaner and nicer shape, I can go above and beyond in what they get. They get a phenomenal service no matter what, are blown away and I don't have to sweat the little things.

YEP, interiors are not my thing even though I can get them pretty damn clean! I just dont like doing them! Its a personal thing I guess, even thought there is money in it. Have to do what makes me happy in order to survive doing manual labor for a career!

Some of what I have seen in modern exotics would surprise you. These are just the the flavor of the year and DD's for them. Half of a cup of coffee under the seat. Food. Bird droppings, dog hair and mud paw prints.

No vehicle under 200k non the less.

Had to clean mounds of dog hair out of a 7figure Ferrari once it was woven in everywhere after a week long rally.

John, they got the money, you got the ability, so do the work, charge them a fair pice, buy your lady a nice dinner.

They will be back and that's what it is really all about.

That's the job of a detailer.

Dude....THAT is what owning those cars are all about imho. I LOVE working on exotics that are really driven and enjoyed. Just the idea that someone was driving a million+$ Ferrari with their best dog buddy with them is awesome!

OK - I was watching a movie with Christina Applegate and Cameron Diaz - "the Sweetest Thing" and there was a couple scenes that really were funny, if you haven't seen it, it's not a "chick flick" so you won't lose your man card. Anyway, the girls are on a road trip and Diaz was complaining about a smell in the car," like moldy asre" - I kid you not! Anyway, it was a forgotten chinese diner that had maggots in it. If you have Directv, it's on about every month so sit back, look at how Al Bundy's daughter grew up and prepare to laugh a bit.

I'm not complaining. There have been perks. Driving the cars to shows out of state. We were able to have a Scuderia 16M Spider for a weekend and go anywhere. Cost a wash and bring back with a full tank. That is the nice thing about driven cars. The owners have been more than generous just wanting to keep them moving.

I have noticed jeeps and ford trucks. Also, like mentioned above, VW installed Velcro instead of carpets in their cars (Jettas) and are a huge pain to clean.

I havent had many dirty minivans, so I can't put them here. I also drive a minivan and keep it pretty darn clean. Washed once a week, waxed every 3 months, and vacuumed once a week too :)
