I am cooking in a cast iron pot called a dutch oven the beauty of this pot is its non stick, holds heat, distributes heat evenly, and very low maint. I have had this pot for two years cooking everything from brownies to chili and not once washed it between, amazingly the flavors don't transfer.

Looks good all but the (venison) i could do beef or buffalo(Bison) but im not in to deer

Because everything tastes better over fire that's why

I love all my cast iron, made a big batch of gumbo last week

The venison is very faint, that flavor can over power others easily. Cooking in a dutch oven is an art and if your not careful it can get you drunk while your tending it.

Looks great, but seriously, there are no beans in real chili (let the debate begin). :D

Why are you cooking that outside
City boy ;)

Dutch ovens were designed for cooking over open fires. Check out the lip on the lid. That will hold embers/charcoal etc. to allow for cooking from the top and bottom. We taught our Boy Scouts campfire cooking with dutch ovens. The adult leaders would get together and cook as well. I know I'm bragging, but the best peach cobbler I've ever eaten (and best looking), I cooked in my dutch oven. The boys thought it was pretty good too. We had one leader who was masterful at cooking biscuits!
