Dilemma

In my experience people done appreciate the Autopian methods. Most people who live under my roof don`t get it so how is a neighbor going to. Look at him as a future correction customer. After he forks over $ to correct the paint he will listen.
 
Take the guy a beer and start a conversation with him. Try to guide the conversation toward detailing etc and try to go from there. Tell him you learned a few "tricks" from a friend and that you would be glad to show him or share the info with him. If it works great---if not at least you had a chance to have a beer. Or just stay home, shake your head and have a beer by yourself.

As you get older this will no longer be a dilemma after a few experiences with trying to save people from themselves. My last was when I was sure that that perfectly healthy young man with his sweetheart in tow surely accidentally parked his motorcycle in the handicapped space because he did not see the sign. He told me he did not care and just laughed at my concern. I now wait for people that I do not know well to ask for my help.
