Digital pictures in camera??

Sorry, I didnt know where to ask this question.



The other day I was trying to download all of the pictures on the camera. I use a one gig card. Somehow I deleted all of the pictures 600 of them. My question is there a way of retrieving those pictures even though they have been deleted.



I have not taken any pictures ontop of them. I pulled the card out immediately hoping that there might be a way of restoring them. The pictures are kind of important and would love to have them back if possible.



I was scrolling through the menu trying to change the size of some othe pictures. Unfortunately I must have hit the delete button or something else.



If someone out there has an answer for me that would be awesome. Either way, a yes or no would helpfull.

I don't have any first hand experience with any programs but they do make recovery programs for situations like that.



One that a search on download.com came up with is:

it was the only one that they had that was free. A google search for something like "recover pictures on memory card" should turn up some other options.

Most options will want you to buy the software.

You should be able to get them back, generally when you delete a file the file stays there, you just erase the info that tells the hardware where the file is.

Taking the card out and not using it anymore was a smart move and hopefully saved the pictures from getting written over.

Thanks Zmanz. I was hoping I could get them back. I figured if I took pictures over them then there would be no way. Thankfully I have another card or my wife would have killed me yesterday. She wanted hundreds of photos of our sons first easter. He fell asleep during the egg hunt.



I will try that download. IF not do you think I can take it somewhere and have them do it?
