Millennium Detailing
I had a client of mine called me and said that he has screwed up his rims and that he needed my help. So naturally I thought the worst :flamed . Well when I got there I saw what he had done, He has a two tone rim where the spokes are black and the outer rim is polished. Well he said that he had seen some tar after he washed his car on his rims. Tried to remove but it left some imprints on the rim were the tar was. So he took a Brillo pad and proceeded to destroy the rim. Well he din't notice untill the were dry and saw that they were all scratched up. Well I saw that what he did was scratch the clearcoat that was on the rims. I was not prepared for this at all and he was desperate and about to cry so I went back in my car and all I had was SSR 2.5 and said to myself "why not?". so I took a MF and tested it on one side byt hand and it worked. I was surprised on how easy it was. So I thought that the oils might be hidding the defects on the surface. S i took some APC and cleaned all the residues and to my surprise it was about 90% better. The customer was so happy that he wanted to give a $100.00 for something that took me about an hour. I refused it and said that it was on the house (whole family long time customers). Don't know it has ever been used in this way but just want to spread my finding and hope to hear any comments on this .

Thanks for sharing. It’s always interesting to hear how people are using products to achieve different results. I’ve used SS1 to clean up my own rims prior to sealing, but it’s nice to hear SSR2.5 was able to correct scratches on clear.

The 2.5 is a agressive product and deisgned to remove swrils and light scratches....it was a perfect choice for the rims IMO....Good job!!

I did not think about the SSRI on my GTO rims. The difference is that my rims are painted with no clearcoat but that will not be a problem. I will have to take before and after photos. Thanks Shawn!
