Difference btw PO85U and PO87MC

I am going to be ordering the regular intensive polish (po91e) (ill try this, if i need more cut, which i dont think i will, then ill buy the SIP), but do I need both the Final Polish (PO85U) and Micro Polish (PO87MC)? Reading about them it seems the micro finishes off better and has less cut, but im not sure if i need to order both.

You don't need both. Either should take out any marring (if any) left by IP I'd go with the PO87MC aka FPII (I think..the new Menzerna naming scheme confuses me) since it finishes better

i looked on AG's website and the Final polish says it has more cut than the micro polish. Am I wrong in saying that it is bad to use intensive polish a lot (aka every 3 months or so) bc wont you eventually go thru the clear coat? Im thinking that it might be alright to do intensive polish once and awhile, but every 2 months or so using the final polish or micro polish. So i guess a question is how often can you use the intensive polish? If using the final polish or micro polish i assume you can use as often as you like bc it has a small amount of cut.

IP isn't terribly agressive. You only need to really worry when you get into the compounds.

Just remember to try and use the least aggressive first.

Once you get the moderate swirls out of the way with the IP, you'd only need to maintain it with the FPII/Micropolish, unless something major happens.

I use FPII about twice a year on my daily driver.

Instead of the FP, get the 106 FF which gets rave reviews and can be used with different pad combo to achieve different level of cutting. If you are using either FP or PO87, just get the FP, it cuts more and same gloss level.

+1 for 106 (either FA or FF) over FPII

106FF is good, but about double the price and I didn't notice much if any difference than with FPII on my car using a PC. I remember hearing people noticed more of a difference when they used a rotary..The last Menzerna chart I saw had them listed the same in gloss, but the 106 had more cut

If you have a particularly hard clear coat, I'd definitely go with it since that is what it was designed for.

its going to be used with a flex 95% of the time, occasionally a pc, so i dont know if there is going to be that much difference between the po85u and the po87, or the 106
