Difference between the 3 washes?

I was wondering why Meg's has 3 different kidns of car washes? They have the soft wash gel, Deep Crystal, and Gold Class. Do they have different harshnesses? WIll the deep crystal remove my Klasse or wax quicker than say the Soft wash?

Also I'm curious as to how the Deep Crystal wash could be "fun for the whole family", and yet stay a car wash? :P

All Meguiar's car washes are non-detergent, so I don't think they'll remove your Klasse, you'll probably have to try them yourself to find out.

The difference in the different car washes is in price point and quality. The least costly wash compared to most other non-Meguiar's car washes, and especially detergent washes is of excellent quality. The further up the price point you move, the higher the quality of the ingredients. Thus, in the Consumer Line, Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash is Meguiar's premium car wash followed by NXT Car Wash. They are both premium car washes, but the Gold Class offers more/better ingredients for adding slickness, gloss, shine and lubricity.

I personally like the NXT Tech Wash. Use it every time I wash my cars.

As far as your other question goes... that little tidbit of copy is probably a little misleading, you see it's not just the Deep Crystal Wash that's fun for the entire family... All Meguiar's washes are fun for the whole family!

You should see how much fun my family and I have when we wash our cars!

Come over sometime and join in the fun!

:D :D :D

So you are saying that the Gold Class is less likley to cause swirls (more lubricity)?

just a question, what kind of mitts are you using? That's the most important part in not creating swirls.

I'm new to this so I'm using some Viking chennelie mitts for the paint, and an older dirtier one for the eunderside and wheels(with seperate soap and water for those.

Will getting a MF wash mitt help? And if so which one would you suggest?

Though one may draw that conclusion, no where in Mike's post did I see that stated. :o

Uh, 3 washes? I thought Meguiar's had five washes! What about #00 and #62, are they above the GC, below the GC?

I like #62, then GC, #00 and NXT about the same, then DC.

sounds like you have it right, what are you using to dry? And look up the Ultimate Drying Method thread :)

I think he's just referring to the consumer line :)

hmm, I've never seen the other washes (I kind of forgot, but I think there is an NXT line of wash too) so that is why I only asked about those three.

For drying I have my old absorber, and I try to first sheet the water off with the hose then blot or lightly drag the absrober over alrger surfaces. I then dry the small leftover accumulations of water with my MF buffing towel ( I want to get a WW, but am not sure how muc hto spend and which ones are good etc.).
