Can someone describe the material difference between a wool bonnet, and a sheepskin wash mitt ? Whats is the difference in composition, other than the use factor.....

Isnt sheepskin and wool, one in the same ?

Wool is a woven/spun material of the fiber's sheered from the sheep. It is more dense and prone to trap dirt/debris in the yarns.

Sheepskin is a fur from the sheep. It is like not woven and does not have the fine places to trap the dirt. It rinses clean very easily (gotta love the two bucket method).

My preference is skeepskin mitts. I use teh $5 ones from walmart. They are pretty soft and plush, yet cheap enough that I can throw it out if it when it becomes soiled with tar or other nastiness.

What he said. :xyxthumbs

Also, sheepskin implies that the skin will be still attached to the fur. On a sheepskin mitt this is one way you can tell if you got the real thing or not - you can check for the leather on the inside.

Sheepskin bonnets/pads also exist, but they're hard to find because I believe their job niche is overlapped somewhat by the more favoured foam pads.

Keep in mind also that wool is not necessarily from sheep, it can also be a combination of goat, camel, and others. The label should be specific.

So wool, is just a product of sheep, or other animal.......(haircut)

Sheepskin, is as implied, hair+skin=dead animal!

Easy as that ??
