Did my first paying detail job today

After years (seems like it) of hanging out here on the board and spending countless hours detailing my own cars... today I finally got paid to do it! :D :D :D

I've been unemployed for a couple months now and I was starting to run low on cashola... so I mentioned to my wonderful girlfriend that she should mention to some of the VPs (or others with nice cars) at her work that I could detail thier cars for them and charge less than the dealers and do a better job. So today I detailed the VP of marketing's silver Mercedes Benz ML500. I live only a couple miles from the office, so he let me take the car back to my house to do the work, which was nice.

I did the full treatment: Wash, vaccum, clean carpets, condition leather, 303 on everything plastic, and applied a coat of Blackfire AFPP with the orbital. It was in OK condition to start... I think the MBZ dealership had detailed it a few times so it wasn't too nasty. The wheels were really caked with brake dust though, and it took some work to get them clean... but they look 100% new now. I tried to convince the owner to go for the full clay, swirl remover, Blackfire polish, etc... but there were very few noticable swirls (silver is a great color! ;) ) so he didn't want to spend the extra $$. The end result was very nice, Blackfire looks pretty darn good on silver. The owner was very happy with the result, and commented that it looked just like the day it came from the dealership brand new, if not better. So I made $110 for my 4 hours of work, and the best part is I got 4 referrals! Next week is going to be busy :) Time to make up some business cards.

I'm an idiot and I completely forgot to take pictures! I brought my digital camera out and intended to snap some before & after shots... but it slipped my mind. doh!

Anyway, enough of my babbling... I just thought I'd share with you guys/gals.
