DG FC&S opinions

Well, 425 certainly isnt durable as its a QD, but as far as slickness goes, I have found it to be fractionally slicker than FCS, just with a bit less cleaning power.

For between $20-30, you cant go wrong with either. I like the marine version better and after I added a few ounces of AW, it was even better. :bigups

Funny, I've found that #425 removes bugs easier than DG's marine detailer, which supposedly has more cleaning power than their FCS. Weird.

I'm gonna try adding a little AW to my marine detailer, too. I think it looks very good already, but I guess a little AW can't hurt.

I may try mixing some AW with it and see what happens. I just dont seem to get the wet , depth out of it as I do with the 425.

I've just been a little lost in the QD dept. lately . can't find the trick right now , long time 425 user , tried some Megs UQD , it was ok , nothing spectacular .

I need to order a gallon of something soon , just trying to figure out what to get.

Patrick, what I mean by initial slickness is that the slickness doesn't last - it has no significant durability.

True , but what QD had significant durability . I've usually felt after a good rain or even a wash , there really is no QD properties left.

Megs UQD claims to have some but do not have experience on how it looks after a rain or wash. They say it stays and beads wash after wash....but you know how that marketing stuff goes.

I was more than diappointed in FK425. It did very little for me. Minimal appearance difference and no significant "anti-static" properties over anything else I was using.

FC&S however did give a nice visual enhancement and has great initial slickness. The fact that it's available locally and very affordably makes it that much better.

Just my findings. YMMV

Thanks ZaneO,

Based upon your findings, and the differing opinions of others, I'll simply have to try the stuff, and come to my own conclusions... which is, and should be the case anyway.

Thanks again.

The only two I have tried were Four Stars Ult. Gloss Enhancer and 1Z Lackfinish......They both appeared to have sustained some slickness through a couple washes...

The 1Z is brand new to me, still evaluating but so far so good.....

For sure. I'm not real fond of it, but you might love it. Either way, we'll both be happy with what we use.

Yes and don't forget you can dilute Raindance Lackfinish a fair amount for easier use

I'll tell you what QD has durability, the one I mentioned in my post on page 2

You can buy it in 5, 20, 50 and 200 litre containers if you want and it's well priced

Not only does it have sealant like durability but the slickness lasts

Driven's is very impressive as well, and is the king when used with a blue LC foam pad and rotary at 1000 to 1200 rpm. Gives the paint a colour lift and wetness factor I've never seen before.

The bonus is that 473ml makes a gallon of it.
