DG Aquawax over Natty's?

I have a red VW GTI with the following on it:

PB PWC Blue

PB EX-2 Coats

PB Natty's Blue-2 coats-last about 5 weeks ago.

I maintain it with S&W and S&G every other week after a foam gun wash, and it still beads great and looks glossy and wet after the SG applications.

My question is, if I start maintaining with Aquawax, will I get a good bonding over the Natty's? Has anyone tried AW over NB?

I have the AW on my wife's white Forester over Klasse SG, and it looks great, but I'm not sure how it will work over a carnauba.

Thanks everyone~! :hifive:

i tried aquawax over natty's blue...i didnt like the finish every much...it seemed to look less wet n dulled out the finish after applying aquawax

yes..AW will work over Nattys..there are many posts here and some have pics of AW over natty's....only one person had a problem with it a awhile back...but many have used it over natty'sand no problems

Best bet is to use the search and you find instance's where it was used..and results...

I did a search before posting. I could not find anything specific from someone who had used AW over NB, and what the results were.

Anyway, it seemd I have (1) positive and (1) negative responses so far.

Thanks, guys.

I suppose it might work, but consider that the AW is all synthetic, and applying a syn over a carnauba is not a recommended procedure. IMO, I think you may find less than optimal results (durability) from doing so, but that doesn't mean it absolutely will not work.

IMO, the big advantage (and why I really like it so much) I had found from AW was its durability/protection for a spray product. If durabillity isn't a concern then why bother with it? You could always use another product, such as a QD that is for gloss/shine/wetness only, and not durability, and achieve an equivalent look.

here is one post were some one used AW over natty's with a picture....the posters name is sludge...

you will have to read alot of AW posts pertaining to AW and see who used it over nattys....there is not a specific on AW and Natty's post

some have used over collinite also...

My truck had collinite #915 on it over the winter...used AW over it and no problems...

I was wondering how aqua wax will do over something that isnt a carnuba. Something like NXT. It looks pretty good over that collinite. I guess i'll find out as i have some AW shipping out to me. Anyone know if it will work over NXT?

Thanks, Al. I agree, "try and see". Of course, I have a great look now, just maintaining my Natty's with Spray and Gloss. I was thinking of the AW to extend the life in addition to keeping at least as good a look as I have now. Plus, I just bought a gallon to replace my original 22 oz. bottle, so I have way more AW than I have SG.

Back to the synthetic over Carnauba, I use FX100 over Pink Wax all the time with no detrimental effects, In fact it amplifies the reflectivity and depth.
