DG 105 / DG AW Beading at 5 months

I suppose that depends on how much credit you give to AW. I believe it is a maintenence product. If you took a freshly compounded car with raw, exposed clear coat, and applied nothing but AW, do you honestly believe these are the results you'd get?

Yes, after polishing a car to remove swirls, I rewash them to remove lubes from within the compounding polishes and powders and with nothing on them at all, they bead very nicely.

Just fyi.:2thumbs:

As I said before, looks like a great product.

Here's a quote from AG website just so eveyone will know what AW is.

"Use Duragloss Aquawax any time to enhance gloss. As a maintenance wax, it applies an extra layer of protection and enhances the gloss of the existing paint protection. We recommend using a plush Cobra Deluxe Jr. Microfiber Towel to buff off Aquawax.

Since Duragloss Aquawax is a polymer sealant, it has good durability in its own right, but it will last longest when used as a topper. Plus, Aquawax will increase the lifespan of your existing paint protection."

There you have it. It is to be used as a maintaince wax, not some cheapy detail spray after a wash, it is also a stand alone plymer sealant according to what I just quoted off AG website.

While I do believe 105 and AW are very durable as a combo and can easily last 5+ months without touchups, what you are seeing is the Aquawax beading after 6 days. I use AW on the wife's car with absolutely nothing underneath and get solid, tight beads for quite a while. A better representation of 105 would be letting the AW layer wear off, then taking pics of just the 105 at 5-6 months. Since you had just applied AW to the 105, the pics don't really show what 105 is doing...just the AW....just FYI. :)

Did you use 101 then 105 and then top it with AW or is it just 105 with AW?

I did the 101 followed by 105 the next day and then AW as a maintainer.

I'm not going to debate the whole AW as an LSP vs. AW as a booster. Like JoshVette mentioned... this is what the product was designed for. The picture is what it is... I think I made the claim pretty clear in the title. Take it or leave it.

I'm not arguing or even questioning your results, but the claim is not accurate or clear in the title. You are not showing any product lasting 5 months, which is what you are claiming, if you just applied AW six days ago and then took a picture. It is the AW doing a majority, if not all, of the beading...AW has darn good beads on its own and you could get 10 year beading if you applied AW once a month, regardless of whether you applied 105 underneath or NXT. I'm not trying to bash you at all, I was just trying to clarify so everyone has a better understanding of what they're seeing....

According to AG website, the product is designed as a polymer sealant/maintaince wax that provides a layer of protection and enhances the gloss. That is a quote not my opinion or debate.

I think your car looks great and also think you picked a great process and combination in which to maintain your finish. Good job.:goodjob

again so nobody is confused at what the product is designed for:

"Use Duragloss Aquawax any time to enhance gloss. As a maintenance wax, it applies an extra layer of protection and enhances the gloss of the existing paint protection. We recommend using a plush Cobra Deluxe Jr. Microfiber Towel to buff off Aquawax."

If you want your title to read more accurately, it should say something like, 101 and 105 maintaince after 5 month.
