DG 101 vs 105 AIO's

I have both of these ( 101/105) and good luck with both. I thought the 101 gave a better look , deeper , wetter. I know technically the 105 is the latest

Anyone have a durability comparison ?? or shine comparison they would like to share their experiences on them.

I also like the 111 as a LSP with AW maint. plan .

i have both too but it seemed like nobody talked about 101. If I used it, I don't even remember to be honest but I do use the 105 a lot on newer light cars and it does gloss us nicely. I'll use AW as a topper or wheel wax under any circumtances. I want to try the rest of the lineup.

I didn't know you could use 501 for automotive paint . I wonder what the difference is between 501 , 105 , 101 since they seem to be all AIO.

501 has worked just fine on my automotive paint.

It has the best cleaners of the group. It can also be used in conjunction with the 601 fixer / longevity enhancer.

501 and 101 are the AIO's, with 501 being the stronger cleaner. 105 is NOT and AIO product. It is a sealant with very very mild cleaning.

105 is an AIO and their latest version of the 101 type product. (per Bill @ DG)

Not so!! According to Dr Bailey the developer of DG products--

111 = pure sealant rated 1 on cleaning ability

101 = rated about 4-5 on cleaning ability

105 = rated about 9-10 on cleaning ability

105 also contains mild abrasives.

Exactly correcty

105 should be a improve version of 111 with mild cleaning.

Its supposed to be a improved version of 101 , not 111. 111 is a pure sealant.

Reason I brought this up was I used some 101 instead of 105 and seemed to look really nice.

Now Im not sure if you have noticed this or not but when I was researching about duragloss products and I've found that everybody that has talked with the two devolpers or chemist for the duragloss line, everything they say all conflicted with each other.

I know for a fact that 105 is not at 9-10 on cleaning ability. It's cleaning abilites are so mild that it does not remove a cured layer of itself.

Now if 105 has a much stronger cleaning ability than why is it that most people use 101 to clean the paint first than 105 for the sealant.

You should pm AL-53 personally. I know he is an exclusive duragloss user that knows about the product.

I'll wait and if he will come in on this thread and explain.

From my understanding of the products from the weakest to strongest:

111

105

101

501

Here...you can read this i guess..

I recieved this information:

111 = pure sealant rated 1 on cleaning ability

101 = rated about 4-5 on cleaning ability

105 = rated about 9-10 on cleaning ability

105 also contains mild abrasives

directly from Dr Bailey in an email. Why would the developer of the product give out false information??? Are we to assume your understanding is more reliable than the developer of the product??

Dont make an *** of yourself now. I said assumption because thats what it is. Research further into it and you will find that they say differently also.

Can DG #105 and Aqua Wax be put on in layers?? - Auto Geek Online Auto Detailing Forum

Be sure to read the last 2 lines in AL-53's post. Im really confused as to why the developer would tell you one thing and tell him another.

I let the products do the talking not the developers.

You can also read this thread from top to bottom and tell me what you think of it.

Duragloss themselves dont know which is which, thats the problem. You should read more. They (different reps at DG) have given very different answers. Dr. Bailey may say what he said, but from experience 105 has practically NO cleaning ability. 501 has more cleaning ability. Much more!

Draw a line on a blank CD with Permanent marker, let dry, wipe with 105. Does it remove the marker?
