DF Peerless Sponge?

As subject, I've only found a couple of posts relating to it, wondered if anyone had any comments/opinions on its effectiveness on new paint that's already in good shape?

TIA.

I have used them. They work great. The problem is that they are very fragile and just squeezing excess soapy water out causes them to tear. If you are going to use one, treat it VERY delicately. They do clean very well and they do leave a very smooth finish.

Thanks for the reply :)

Do they strip wax?

I'm intrigued how they actually work over a regular sponge and it's not very clear from the website.

I just washed my car last night with one. It is the second time I've used this particular sponge and it is showing quite a few tears in the foam and there are a few bits that have fallen off around the edges. It does clean beautifully though it won't last all that long.

I cut my Peerless sponges down to a smaller size (2/3 and 1/3). I have one larger piece that is squarish and the other is small rectangular shape. The smaller size has made it much easier to ring out water and soap, but the bigger piece is still plenty big enough to wash the paint. The smaller piece does an excellent job of cleaning the brake dust off of my wheels. The small piece comforms well to get into the nooks and crannies of the wheel and this foam does really clean well. I use the sponge on my paint only after I have just washed with my sheepskin mitt to get deeper cleansing. The paint always feels smoother after using it and I can tell that the water sheets off my car more effortlessly after using it so I know it is getting the paint extra clean.

You just have to be careful when squeezing the sponge. When full of water and soap you have to squeeze slowly for the water to release or your fingertips will poke into the foam. It's not like the normal sponge that you dry out in a quick squeeze. It is very dense like the memory foam (viscoelastic) you see in pillows and mattress pads. I holds a lot of water

I destroyed the first sponge I had by poking too many holes in it and then it began tearing under the weight of the water it holds. That sponge does wheel duty now. The second sponge that I cut down first has lasted for 6-8 months so far.
