Dewalt DW443 or PC

Ok so I am going to get one of these two machines, either the

Porter Cable 7336 or the Dewalt DW443.

The one I would really like to get is the dewalt so that I can also use this to do sanding jobs, as I have alot of wood-work in my house that needs refinished. I just got done renting a dewalt palm orbital that was 12,000 opm and it was awsome. I also want the dust collection feature of the dewalt.

Is the dw going to be to fast to apply zanio even at its slowest speed? Any comments would be appriciated. Thanks.

I think you're going to be better off with the Porter Cable. You have the option with the PC to slow down more than the Dewalt. I think the DeWalt may be too fast for a lot of products, including Zaino. Anyone out there with any thoughts on this, please chime in!!!

Have a DeWalt orbital and love it!

The slow speed is pretty slow. The pad doesn't spin very fast on it... Kinda hard to describe without seeing it. IT vibrates around but the pad makes pretty slow revolutions. I've never used it to apply Zaino or Klasse but I use it to apply wax all the time and I never have a problem with fling off from it. I think it will be slow enough.

Plus you have to dust collection you want, more powerful motor than the PC, and a better max speed. Can't beat a DeWalt.

I dunno, I can't see why either won't work. The DW spins at a higher RPM and has less RPM range.

But I don't see why the PC wouldn't do the same job you want it to, sans the dust collector.

The PC is a tried and true tool that many of us know how to use properly on a car. The DW, well, you'll be on your own as far as advice and stuff goes.

But from just looking at the specs I'd think the DW will work for you if that's the one you want.

well actually after doing some more research today, I noticed on Porter Cables Website that they have the 7336 with a dust collection kit, I think this is what I will probably get, I am kinda worried about the dust collecter on the DW accidently scratching the car. with the 7336 for the most part I could just leave the dust collector part off and only use it for actual sanding projects.

Now if only I could find someone that sells it, can't seem to find it anywhere.

Here is a link if your interested.

buy the 7336 and take of the hood and hose then you have a PC and the option to add back the hood and hose LIKE I DID..................You have the best of both worlds
