Dewalt 443 or PC7336?

I'm looking at both of these and I hear the Dewalt is a more powerful version of the PC (more powerful motor which won't bog down). That seems to be a routine wish of the PC users that I've read- that it needs to be more powerful or could go up to 8 versus 6. Any comments from someone who's used both? Are backing plates and pads just as easy to find and work with the Dewalt? Any help and thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!

hey buzzb,

we don't have easy access to the PC here in Oz. I have had a dewalt dw443 for a year & love it... has all the "power" that i need, but i cant compare to the PC as have never used it! I use its backing plate, (not real sure if you can replace it) with 6 - 8 inch pads from various makers... On this forum its the PC that is king though. I would have tried it if I could have had cheap & easy access to it!!!! Either one will make you happy.... :woohoo:

Thanks Petey! Anyone else have any experience with the DeWalt 443 or experiences with both? Can you use 4 inch pads (and backing plate) with the DeWalt also? I was looking at the Propel pads from Excel.

Was not going to comment on this thread but when you asked about Propel pads it made it easier for me. The propel pads are good!!

Use then on both the PC and my Vector rotary. The results are terrific. Have had good luck with the backing strip as well as the pad itself. Am looking forward to the new Propel pad 2 that is coming out in late December or early January.

I own both and they both have a place in my shop. The 443 is my inbetween machine, when I don't need the aggressiveness of the rotary, but need more than what the DAPC can offer. The 443 uses the same pads/size of the PC as well. I use the 443 with either a red or green pad for cutting or polishing and the results are fantastic. I still use the pc for applying light polish/sealants. Hope that helps. Gary

Thanks Gary- does the DeWalt come with a hook and loop backing plate or did you have to buy one? Please let me know where to find one if you did have to buy it.

It comes with the velcro backing plate and is on sale at Amazom.com I think for $135.00 you will love this machine, I use it more the the rotary/pc or cyclo now. gary
