Many of the shops in my area go with the term Auto Reconditioning. In my production shop days, the term Detailing was associated with removing overspray, cleaning up a bit & pinstriping after a paint job.
When I use the term detailing with people my age & older, I get,
"Oh, you do pinstripes"
"Um, I can, but that's not what I'm into."
"Oh."
Then I switch to reconditioning, they know what I'm speaking of.
Now, the local car dealerships advertise in help wanted ads for auto detailers to clean up used cars.
I'm baffled.
What have I missed, what have I forgotten?
Can any of you folks straighten me out here?
I'm working on getting fliers made up but cannot decide what I should go with. Rob's Auto Recon, Rob's Auto Detailing or Rob's Recon/Detailing. Again .....
Thanks for your time in advance here,
Rob
