Detailing this weekend, quick question

Tackling the dark blue BMW that's been through the harsh winter here and taken to the car wash several times (sigh....)

There are minor swirls...the paint seems to be in pretty good shape.

I was thinking of trying Meguiar's (#9 I think) swirl mark remover as a "cleaner/polish"

Would I then need the P21S cleanser product, or go straight to the P21S wax??

TIA!

I would try Meguiar's DACP(Dual Action Cleaner/Polish) instead of #9. I think DACP cleans more and #9 fills more. Actually Meguiar's Medallion Paint Cleanner is also a good choice for cleaning the paint, it actually has more bite then #9. Leaves a nice smooth shinny surface.

If you use #9 then I would do the extra step of P21S GEPC before the P21S wax.

I think the P21S GEPC will help wet the paint and its a great combination for P21S wax especialy on dark color cars.

Good Luck. :wavey

I wouldn't try using DACP until you've tried #9 or MPPC and determined they aren't strong enough. Both DACP and #9 have fillers designed to partially hide imperfections and basically make it look better. It's still a good idea to follow that up with GEPC or a glaze (like #7) though.
