Its soooooooooo hard to keep anything cleaned in CT this winter. It seems to snow every other day and when its not snowing the roads go from paved roads to dirt roads. Plus its freakn cold!!! Sorry just venting. I need to move west I guest?

So see this picture, well enjoy because 5 seconds down the road its dirty again.

I can't wait til spring which looks like it about 3-4 months away!!!!!! :nixweiss

The Green Monster looks great. Maybe you could get one of those car canopies for it and just leave it parked right where it is until spring. ;)

Seriously, it really is frustrating at times. We have had no real winter, but the highway/street crews have managed to put down their brine solution often enough to really mess my cars up a few times. Clear, sunny, warm, and they put the stuff down because there is a "chance of snow". I think our total snowfall for the year is 1.5" so far. They have probably put that much brine solution down. I think they have to use it or lose it. If they don't use all the money allocated in their budget, it is reduced in the next years budget.

Venting over.

I know exactally what you are going through. It's been very cold thus far in Cincy, lots of snow............and salt. I just washed the Explorer the other day, within 24 hours it was a total salt covered mess again. :(

Gee, I love winter. :down

When there is slosh on the ground you have it getting on your rocker panels.......

I have it coming in my windows!!!!!!

That picture probably shows that car as close to the snow as it ever gets.

Charles ;)

Green Monster, I keep opening up this thread and admiring your Ranger. It's such a great pic! I notice the mud flaps on the front and back. Are they solid? They look really nice. And what wax/sealant do you use? The reflection in the pic is incredible!:up

CharlesW Not much snow. With about 3" of ground clearance it stays home when the snow is too deep. It see's a lot of salt and slush just afterwards, too. Hate that! It's a daily driver. Just added another coat of Zaino yesterday for added protection.

:D Thanks guys.

Brad B. Yes the mud flaps are (solid) molded plastic came that way from the factory.

Whats on the truck as of the last deep cleaning(dawn and claying) which was done in late summer 02. Is as follows:

(Note: These layers were all done over the last 3-4 months)

  • Meguiar's Medallion Paint Cleaner

    #26

    #7

    #26

    P21S

    #7

    #26

    P21S

    LS

It due for a good polishing again because this winter is taking a toll on it. Snow removal, ice, salt, and all that damm sand they put on the roads. No swirls just marring here and there.

I like the #26/#7 combo for its deep wet look and I really like the bright shine of the P21S. The jury is still out on the LS if it adds any thing or not, kind of a soft glow maybe?

I wash this truck at least once a week with GC and dry it with EO Wipe-AS-U-Dry. I love this stuff. It lives in a garage at night and when clean and weather is good its covered durning the day. To dusty right now to cover. Winter sucks!

PS- There is a couple more pics in my gallery, the engine and interior are just as clean. This truck is a daily driver so its not easy, but I love the challenge.

Green Monster,

If I ever got a pickup truck, I'd want one just like yours!!! That's really a sweet truck.

Love that color green!!! :bounce

Green Monster. I feel your pain, since I only live one town to the north. The weathere lately has been a real drag. Now its so cold that I can't wash outside at all, or the driveway becomes a skating rink.

Last night, I couln't stand it anymore, so I had to resort to going to the car-wash. New Milford has one that just sprays, no brushes. Doesn't get real clean, but it's better than nothing.

By the way, the Ranger looks great!

You should see the Maxima. My car has more salt on it than bovine salt lick.
