I want to detail our 26.5' Lazy Daze RV. It is painted with Imron paint. Before we bought it, it was in FL and the cab hood is very faded. It probably needs to be repainted, but we don't have the money for that right now. What products can I use to help bring that part back to life? The rest of the rig does not appear to have suffered too much from fading. After cleaning, I am thinking of going with Klasse for the durability. I don't really need for the rv to glow in the dark, but would like for it to have a nice shine. ;)

For many years I used Dupont Imron paint. For and old technology, it's really a great finish.



It cures very hard and responds well to a medium cut compound and fine polish. If you have a machine, you will get the best results. I used to use 3M medium compound and Meguiar's Pro Machine Polish. If you're thinking of using Klasse AIO, that will work in place of the fine polish. In any case, I would recommend using the 3M compound to remove the top layer of oxidation and bring back some of the color.

Thank you, David! I have the PC and will double check my 3m product. I believe I may only have Finesse-It II and SMR. When I work on it, should I use the yellow cutting pad or the wool pad?

This boat was redone with imron paint. It holds up well, and looks great. Don't be afraid to use abrasives on it, to polish it and take off the top layer of oxidation like david said. Then follow up with your favorite carnuba or sealant...........
