Detailing for Profit?

I can't comment on the validity of the video course. I'm completely unfamiliar with the content.

I do know that nothing beats a hands-on experience, particularly for some one like you, who seems to have a basic working knowledge of detailing.

I've hosted a few 'interns' in my shop (some for a day or two, some for an entire week), and I feel that they all gained a substantial feel for their particular interests.

See if maybe you can't find an Autopian Pro in Toronto (or London, Ont?) who would be willing to 'host' you.

Here's an open offer to join me, but the distance/expense may not make it practical...

Good Luck!

James,

There is much more to starting your own detailing business than just learning about detailing and how to market a detailing business.

What about many of the other steps necessary to successfully start-up, own and operate your own professional detailing business, such as; 1- writing your own business plan, 2- establishing your own advertising strategy, 3- finding ways to get free publicity for your new business, 4- identifying what detailing supplies and professional products you will need in order to get started, 5- identifying what detailing services you will want to offer your customers, 6- establishing your own quality assurance inspection process, 7- creating ways to measure whether or not you are meeting your own business objectives and goals.

In summary, I believe that professional detailers need to concentrate on business principles even more than they concentrate on detailing principles. I would say that 80 percent of the educational effort should be focused on learning more about what it takes to own and operate a successful and profitable business. The other 20 percent should be learning more about the actual process of detailing.

I could use help in Toronto working with a PC7336 with the pads and stuff. Can't get the machine to do all that great results. Need to be shown the light! However... I can never login to this site. If someone could be generous to spend sometime with me teaching me the proper way it'd be great.:bow

BTW, I have been here for a while but this is my first offical post! :bounce Thanks for all the information you have all contributed!
