Detailing EVERYTHING by hand...

I recently spoke with a pro detailer and he told me that he uses a 3-step process on the paint. 1. Swirl Remover, 2. Polish/Glaze 3. Wax... However, he mentioned to me that he does this all by hand. From what I have read, it is extremely difficult to REMORE swirls simply by hand and that a rotary or PC is certainly a better way to go about doing things... I am afraid that he will simply hide the defects temporarily rather than repair them. What do you all think? Should I put out the 150 or simply save it for a detailer in my area who uses a buffer?

You do what you want. If you can live with the defect's fine, it's your vehicle. Scottwax use to do all his work by hand, and a very very fine job he did, so yes, it can be done by hand. I have a daily driver and I do everything by hand, I take my vehicle to places not too many people go too, so I tend to get scratches you name it, but I can live with them. As long as my vehicle has a great shine, minimal defects, smells good, tires look pretty new, I'm happy. To each his own.

Scottwax was the first person to come to my mind. I recall seeing some amazing pics a few years ago.

John, you're doing that truck by hand???!

I'll bet some imperfections can be removed by hand if the right products and the right tools are used coupled with the right knowledge. If you trust this detailer, maybe he can do the job?

I say do some more research here and do it yourself. It'll be fun!

Yes, but most of the time I only do a 2 step process on the paint. I like when I only try out a new carnauba every month or so, or I only QD it after a wash, quick days. I usually QD every 2-3 days, so it looks pretty nice most of the time. When I go to Southern Utah it will come back brown/red, lol So it's time to wash again, so that's about every 2 weeks.

I would but I have no time. I would rather take it to someone who is a pro...
