So today I grabbed my phone book and looked up a couple of detailing shops in the area and I went and put in my application at a few of them. None of them were really hiring anybody, one shop need an experienced buffer but the others said that with spring coming they would be getting busier and would be needing more help.
I personally have VERY little detailing experience. I worked at a Toyota dealership 10 years ago but that's it (y'all know that we can't call that actual detailing). When I wash my cars all I do now is wash and wax which is what brought me here so I can learn more. So my question is this, how can someone with little experience but a strong desire to work in the business get his foot in the door? I want to learn but my lack of experience will hurt me when they see my application.
So to you people that work in shops or have their own business, what can I do to stick out and make them hire me?
