Detailing 18 Mercedes Benz for a show, what should I charge?

18 vehicles-Full interior and exterior detail, i.e., wash and dry exterior, interior and exterior windows, vacuuming and dusting, tire dressing.



Monday, June 25 - Thursday, June 28, 2007



Time: 6 AM – 8 AM & 12:00 PM – 1 PM each day



Two (2) people to completely wipe down interior and exterior of vehicles as well as any needed spot-cleaning.

Whats a fair price? or how should I charge? I'm waiting to hear back about exactly what kind of detailing needs to be done, if its just make brand new cars look good for this show kinda stuff (which I think it is) or if there would need to be any paint correction or anything like that.

Any ideas?
 
If I read your post correctly, you have 5 days, but only 3 hours per day = 15 hours x 2 people = 30 man-hours. That is 100 minutes per car.



In our shop, that's barely enough time to wash/wax/vac. A long ways from a "complete detail"!



I'd charge my hourly rate... $1260.



Doubt they'll pay it,tho.

Oh and penguin, I would definitely charge either by hour or by you wash & wax package price... however you usually price it.

Time does come into play because it seems you only have 15 hours total to do 18 cars, 30 considering it's 2 people. Wash & wax (wash, vac, wax, windows, trim, etc.) takes me alone about 2 hours on an avg. sedan... that means 18 hours for the 18 cars with 2 people...

I think it's possible for you 2 to cut those 3 hours down to 15 but if you're thinking of doing anything more (such as mentioned spot detail) than a simple wash and wax I would think it's nearly impossible in that time frame, even for 2 people.

Here is a job we did for audi - AUDI RS4 RELEASE





I charged this job by the car. We got so much per car for a rinse and dry, a wash, and wash and waxing.
