Detailers Salary?

I am applying for a detailing job, and I have to select my desired salary.

I have been detailing on my own for 3 years, but never for a professional company. How much should I ask for, or should I just leave it blank, and discuss it later?

Thanks

it really depends on how good you are. I have employee's that only wash the cars and i don't pay them very much. I also have employee's that detail the complete vehicle for me. I pay them more just because they are working harder and they know what they are doing.

most of the time i pay by a flat rate, becuase i schedule the work in so i dont have to pay them by the hour.

Are you going to use your own supplies & tools, if so you should ask for more as you will need to keep buying supplies. If they are going to provide you with everything, i would think that around the 30.00 per car would be the salary they will pay you.

I am going to be working for a BMW/Audi garage specialist. I wuld cover all detailing aspects, from washing cars, to doing complete details.

I would leave it blank. Unless you have a resume that has a lot of detailing experience from working in shops like the one you are applying at, then your salary really isn't negotiable. If its a nice dealership, which it sounds like it is, then they should pay better than if you were at some generic auto lot. More than likely you will be paid by the hour. Its the sales people at dealerships that make the big bucks. I've yet to meet a detailer that works at a dealership that isn't looking for something better. It would be a great way to get some real resume material, though. I would hire a detailer that had experience in high end car dealerships before I hire the guy that is used to washing used Civics at some auto barn that does its own financing, if you know what I mean. :)

For me, It would depend on my cost of living expenses, and how good/quick I felt like I was. Ive paid help 30.00 dollars a car before...
