Detailers reality…

Here is how I started my day. A complete detail on this 97 Ferrari 355 Spider. I have been maintaining this car for about 3 years and it is a beautiful machine !!! A true pleasure !!!

Then a detailers reality check !!! This 06 Cadillac Escalade is another repeat customer whose I have not seen since last fall. The pictures tell the rest of the story …

We as detailers take the good with the bad. :waxing:

I thought I was going to see a complete detail of the Ferrari for a second, hehe. Detailing is all about making the bad look great. The bigger difference between the two makes it a more difficult, yet more rewarding job.

^^That's because he's: "Clean" Dean, duh LOL!

Dean you didn't throw that applesauce away did you? J/K Looks very good, and I feel you on the reality check.

LoL, I thought you were documenting the Ferrari! Great work on the Escalade.

Did you have a difficult time getting into those nooks and crannies with those fold-over seats? I'm curious as to what equipment and attachments you used to get that interior so clean!

I use a crevice tool, about 5 different brushes of various shapes and sizes, and lots of compressed air. The area where the seat anchors into the floor was filled with sticky candy and crumbs.:aww: Compresed air is simply a must have !!!

As for chemicals I used Meguiars APC diluted 10:1 and 20:1. I also used a heavy APC 2:1 on the carpeting and Folex on some of the stains. The carpets were finished with an extraction with my Mytee Lite.

Definitely have to put your time in-in more areas than others.

The Ferrari must make up for it, though, right? Gorgeous machine!

Thank you for your response Dean. :)

Wow nice job. I love when you can bring back these interiors from the dead and make them alive again! I also have a Mytee Lite, is there a smaller tool other than the upholstery tool that comes with it to extract in the hard to reach areas? I find it hard sometimes to get into the corners or sides of the flooring. Again, great job!

To buy such an expensive vehicle and make such a disgusting mess of the interior makes me sick. I can understand it being dirty, but I've seen complete slobs and trailer trash with cleaner interiors than that, and as a Lowes employee in hickville NY, I see plenty of trash when loading stuff into peoples cars.

Great job as usual, Dean. At least you stopped short of getting out the SANDBLASTER to get it all!! :)

Speaking of crud, I had to haul about 25 bags of cypress mulch home in my little xB, and naturally the back end is covered in mulch fallout. Every bag had a hole, of course. Had to use tweezers on some of the imbedded splinters. :)
