I'd try Opti-lens before spraying 2K clear on. The idea of doing a less then perfect job/ getting overspray on the paint would irate the crap out of me too much.

I use it on all my headlight restorations. Works very well. Later on this month I will have a Civic coming in that will be the biggest challenge I have put it up against. So far it has been AWESOME.
