Detailer vs. Waterless Wash

QD for after washing, or for bird etchings, light dust

waterless for washing a car when its been driven a few times for distance (around the corner doesnt count)

traditional wash when its dirty
 
I stopped using quick detailers a few years ago.
A product from my Chem facility of choice is an all purpose. Thick concentrate
does everything from replacing detailer spray to an awesome rinse less wash plus use on anything bar fabric
no silicone or fillers and more gloss than detail sprays and non alcohol.

Far safer than washing with soap.
 
Sorta-random thoughts follow:

-The borders between rinseless and QD and clay lube gets hazy when discussing products like ONR/IUDJ that cover all bases depending on dilution
-My *favorite* clay lube (Sonus Glyde) is very different from my QDs and Rinseless
-Some QDs are a bit special with regard to what they leave behind (e.g., the supposed anti-static properties of FK425, which never seem to manifest themselves for me)
-Not all QDs or rinseless products play nice with every LSP
-Whole lotta variables related to "what's safe/not" with regard to wash-induced marring
 
I guess I do things a bit different. I only nanoskin my paint with waterless wash after I have the sealant and LSP removed, then I do a proper hand wash and reapply according to the season. No need to worry about conflicts in products.
At least no problems so far.

sure are a lot of variables to consider, a lot boils down to what kind of clear coat I'm working with. The softer paints leave big open doors for damage if any of these processes are done incorrectly.
This is just a general statement but I think technique is more crucial than the product itself.
side note have you ever had any issues with ONR or similar products causing the clay to dry out faster? I've heard some issues but didn't know if it was the tool or the tool user lol.

I wonder if its the polymers/whatever that such products leave behind messing with the clay somehow.
