Detailed Sister In-Law's car. Before and after pics...

Outstanding!!! And, you did that in the dead of winter! What was the temperature while you were working on it?

Great job!!

Thanks for the compliments! :)

I did only the exterior. Luckily, I have a heated garage with a floor drain, so I can do everything indoors.

The interior is going to be a royal pain. Two words: smoker's car!

Thanks again.

I've got two words for you right back. "Ozium" and "Fabreeze" I've tackled many a smoker car and between those two companies I was able to get the smell out. Spray the Fabreeze down the air vents too. That is where the odor seems to hang out. I'm not sure what you have to take apart to get the smell out of the ventilation system, but the vents are a good place to start. Good luck! The exterior looks amazing. I hope you charged her the $250 bucks that job was worth. ;) Have her get you an IOU or something. :p

Great pics, those shots alone should make anyone want to take care of their car. From someone who plans on buying a PC, what would you estimate the time would have been if you had done that work by hand?

Thanks again for all the nice words! :)

She was pretty much in awe of how it looked. In fact, she said the #1 comment that I hear from everyone I do detail work for (friends, mostly) "My car has never looked this good. Not even when I first bought it." :D

If I did the work by hand?! Wow...I can't even imagine how long it would've taken without the PC. I wouldn't have even considered it without the PC.

In short, PCs rule. I would like to get a rotary to speed things up a bit ;)

Thanks again.

I once owned a smokers car (my first car was originally my dad's who smoked..) my secret was this: spray everything down with the febreeze, practically so the entire upholstery is wet like you shampooed it, (I used an entire bottle of the stuff), let it soak in for like 10 minutes with the doors open, include the vents in this process. Then wipe everything down and intentionally use a little bit of simple green to clean up the carpets (even if you just do under the front seats.) this odor will help the mix as well in the end. Finally, leave a plastic cup in the cupholder overnight filled with ammonia. This really works. Come back the next day and remove the cup with ammonia, spray down all upholstery with ozium (your choice of flavor: original, cherry, new car smell, etc.)
